IPAN Director Mandy Haberman’s experience of patent infringement was selected by Professor David Vaver, keynote speaker, to illustrate Mr Justice Laddie’s intellectual property cases. Sir Hugh Ian Lang Laddie (1946-2008) was a High Court judge and thought leader in the IP law field with a corpus of case law judgments delivered over three decades.

IPAN, The First 30 Years – Can You Help?
The Intellectual Property Awareness Network (IPAN) was first set up in 1993 so next year it will be celebrating its 30th anniversary. Dr Janet Burgess, IPAN’s Membership Officer, has taken on the task of compiling a record of its history and achievements through the decades as it developed from a relatively informal group committed to raising awareness of intellectual property and its importance, to the formally constituted network which it is today.

New Sustainable Development Standards Positively Impact IP
IPAN’s recent ground-breaking virtual network event, “Artificial Intelligence (AI) and ISO Standards to support IP Management, Governance, and Investment”, took place on 24 November 2021. The panel of speakers, who share a wealth of experience between them across several disciplines, examined how AI, Data Analytics, and new IP-related ISO standards could support IP management, corporate governance, and investment in the UK and global IP ecosystem.
