IPAN will be well-represented at the GlobalWIIN Conference, Showcase & Awards 2022 – GlobalWIIN’s video invite can be viewed here and the full programme can be viewed here or downloaded here. IPAN sponsored the special award for IP and IPAN Board Member Janice Denoncourt sat as a member of the Independent Judging Panel at the 2021 GlobalWIIN Awards.

This exciting event will be held on 27 & 28 July at the Bayes Business School, University of London, 106 Bunhill Row, London EC1 8TZ (https://www.bayes.city.ac.uk/). The theme for the event is ‘Digital Trends, Sustainability and Innovative Solutions’. A brief outline of the programme is set out below:

Highlights of Day 1 will include:

The Plenary Session 1 entitled, ‘The Pursuit of Protection & Ownership – the Reality & Influence of Intellectual Property Rights’ will be chaired by our own IPAN Director Professor Ruth Soetendorp, Visiting Professor, University of the Arts London & Visiting Academic City University of London.

Plenary Session 2 will focus on ‘NFT’s and the Rise of Digital Assets’ and features former IPAN Director, Dr Hayleigh Bosher, now a Senior Lecturer in IP Law at Brunel University as Moderator & Special Guest Speaker.

The programme for Day 2 sees IPAN Chairman John Ogier, and IPAN Director Associate Professor Dr Janice Denoncourt supporting the GlobalWIIN Awards in several ways.

John will chair Plenary Session 2: The Value and Impact of Protection in A Competitive World. Associate Professor Dr Janice Denoncourt, Nottingham Law School, Notting Trent University will be the special guest speaker.  She will present her talk on ‘Addressing the Innovation Gender Gap’.

The IPAN Gold Award Winner Case Studies winners of 2021 (Ida Cham Njai, Founder, Yabouy® Home Cooking, Gambia (Trademarks)) and 2020 (Patience Nwodu, Founder, Chibu® – versatile carrier for the Food Industry, and individuals (UK and European Registered Design – Patent Pending)) will be attending in person.
