Viscount Camrose was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for AI and Intellectual Property) in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) on 7 March 2023.

The minister is responsible for all DSIT business in the Lords, for Artificial Intelligence (AI), intellectual property and cyber. He also has ministerial responsibility for the Copyright Tribunal, Geospatial Commission, Intellectual Property Office (IPO), Office for Artificial Intelligence, and for Ordnance Survey.

In welcoming the new minister, Adam Williams, Chief Executive and Comptroller-General of the IPO, said:
